1. Admins respawning other staff when they join way into a round and not respawning other non-admins (peasants) who joined before them.
2. People with VIP who spam the fuck out of Juggernaut, Negev and Healthshot for a pretty much pay-to-win experience. This makes a CT in a good position almost invincible for T's without weapons.
3. People with VIP who use emotes to see past walls (emotes put the player perspective in 3rd-person).
4. !nominate being accessible for only VIPs now.
5. Rules that aren't listed in the actual rules. For example, breaking the wood as a CT on Canyondam elevator race now entitles you to a slay. Doesn't say anywhere in the Jailbreak Rules, but apparently you can be slayed for it. If the rules have changed since DS started, why not edit the Jailbreak Rules to reflect this?
6. Trusted is next to useless. All they can do is call a shitty 2 minute mute and temporary swap from CT that the whole server has to vote on. I say re-add the vote-slay feature for trusted and change the 2 minute vote mute and swap to normal mute and swap perms. If they abuse it just demote them and don't consider them for staff in the future.
7. Admins who don't know basic features of jailbreak. I got slayed by Kiwi for backstabbing in a Golden Bullet LR a couple months back. Also, some of them don't know that you can do a custom LR with Backstab Rebel by giving everyone AKs and doing headshots only. Small thing but still annoying and I'm picky.
8. Shitty broken gunrooms on maps. Skylight and Maximum come to mind. If you can change Italia to remove the T-Room jump, you can fix the gunroom on those very popular maps. The guns need to dispense faster, especially on Maximum where it can take 20 seconds from the start of the round for Ts to break into gunroom.
9. Admins deciding that you can no longer kill Ts in classic games like Cha-Cha Slide or Train Day. How long will it be before you can no longer kill Ts in Talent Day either?
10. Admins who say "post a ban request" instead of actually getting on the server to help when someone posts in ESA that they need staff assistance.
There's probably more minor stuff that I can't of right now but anyway I'm just gonna post this on the forums and see if people think the same.
Edit: Ignore number 10. I'm wrong and it does make sense to tell people in ESA to post a ban request if you can't join the server. Also when I say admins I mean all staff, I don't care about the different roles.
Overall this post makes alot of good posts and ill give you the time of day to give you my experienced response from my perspective on how AUS JB has evolved as both a player and long serving staff member.
1. Admins respawning other staff members isn't a thing or at least SHOULDN'T be a thing. this is clear favouritism and if this is truly what is going on then it is on us as the higher staff team to deal with this. having had more time personally to be on the server of late I have seen what I would call potentially un-needed respawns but from my experience they were not limited to other staff members but any T's who joined the server just after cells opened in an effort to allow them to play in a round that they would otherwise have to wait upwards of 5+ mins to join on the next available round.
2. I am in agreeance that our current VIP has gotten particularly Overpowered especially on the CT side. It seems like alot of the powers given to T's are restricted to one time per map uses such as firewarrior and tasers/smokes ect. Whereas JUGG, spawnable guns and healthshots are unlimited uses which does lead to uninteresting and boring gameplay as this does in the right hands lead to a single VIP player crushing many of the T's potential rebel options by simply being on a map. This problem is exacerbated when multiple VIPs join forces to control a server. I can say we are looking at changes to our current VIP model and powers in the next community I know that it is a concern we are aware of and would like to help make more balanced moving forwards.
3. This is an unfortunate effect of the emote mod as it is currently made. Personally I wouldn't allow this if I saw it on the server but I'm not even sure if the staff team has got a definite ruling on this case. Ill look into this so we can decide how to work on this.
4. nominate is an interesting function. It used to be a universal command without limitation. It ended up with 3 maps on rotation almost permanently even in older variations of this community. It led to people being unhappy with the maps being played so we scrapped the command. Then we started to see that without the command the playerbase would just leave if certain maps on the permanent rotation came on and rejoin when a more popular map came on. So our current working version is a mix allowing some players who care for the command to have access but not every man and their dog spamming the same 3/4 maps every single map. This is a working problem so any suggestions that haven't been tried are welcome.
5. This is a never ending problem unfortunately. Being a gamemode that now spans over a Decade old the rules have been added to, removed changed and adapted even lost to time for a portion makes it a difficult thing to moderate. there are "Hundreds" of rules that have been in effect from one time to another. Writing them all down is an endless task that no man could comprehensively complete and even if they could would not be in a format that would be presentable to a first time player trying to gain an understanding of the game-mode. Compounding this problem is that every staff member and Player in the community no matter their understanding of the written rules will have a different ideal for the way "Jailbreak" is to be played. I know you and I Howlze have had our differences in the past but I do try to be fair and understanding especially in my current approach to staffing. Overall there is no perfect way to both list every scenario possible and have a concise and readable rules list which is approachable to newer players of the community.
6. I agree Trusted should be able to do more, BUT it's a balancing act of responsibility as Trusted players are not expected to be staff and so are not trained like staff and so are not given the responsibilities of staff. The more power we give them the more responsibility we must give them and training to be impartial and represent the community which would ruin the purpose of trusted vs staff.
7. This has been responded to by Kiwi already but staff aren't Robots there will be gaps in thier knowledge especially the less experienced MODS. We try to train them the best we can but either we have a smaller staff team who is trained more extensively which has its downsides like not haveing enough staff to be on the server (already have this issue atm) or too many staff who are not trained enough to properly deal with the situations at hand (Still kinda have this issue *Shrug*) Also remember that Staff is volenteer work we are not paid and even those who are training for many is thier first time having to do this and many have no real world experience doing this so mistakes will be made.
8. This is on the list of fixes for the next community we asked for community feedback on maps and improvements to be made. You bet this made it on the list.
9. This ruling changes as the community does. These used to be examples of fun community led games that was fun for all involved. Then trolls took it over and started to abuse it for free easy kills and nazi behaviour. It led to the staff being forced to shut it down entirely and ban the game outright same as simon says. We decided that hopefully the community can be trusted under the supervision of staff members to ensure players aren't ruining a potentially fun game.
10. Again sorry we don't have staff to be online 24/7 I'm personally taking my time in lockdown to try and do my part to help with this problem but we do honestly try to deal with players who are being malicious but we do need help in acquiring evidence and the ban req are the most efficient ways for us to review clips and form a decision.
TLDR: Good points many we are aware of and trying to improve but we aren't perfect.
