Admin Complaint (Retrodawn/Shane)

Hello friends! 

I would just like to address an incident that occurred earlier tonight because it seems I literally can't play jailbreak without being targeted by admins unfairly, so here we go.

I had died as a Terrorist, and was being friendly to everybody in the regular chat, when I heard Retrodawn correctly educate a CT on something that he had done wrong, and that he could fix in the future. I hadn't seen an admin take the initiative of educating the players in such a way and was genuinely impressed by his actions. So I sent him a compliment in admin chat out of respect for what he had done. 

Either Retrodawn wasn't happy with me because he thought I was taking the piss, or he just genuinely didn't want me to use admin chat for "non-server related issues". As a result, he told me not to use admin chat in that way. I then apologised to him, and complied with what he had asked of me.

Fast forward 5 MINUTES, and Shane total-gags me for using admin chat inappropriately. Not only was I not even addressing him to begin with, but it was well after the incident had occurred, and AFTER I had apologised for utilising the service incorrectly.

New players are generally not educated correctly, and are often CT-banned before they've had an opportunity to be accustomed to our server, and our rules. So when Retrodawn approached the situation the way he did and I complimented his action, it completely baffles me as to how that constitutes a total-gag.

Once I was ungagged, I wanted to address the issue head-on so I told Shane that if he chose to abuse his power in such a way, I would make a complaint about him. To which I received a 10-minute total-gag from Retrodawn...

It is obvious that I am being targeted unfairly by Shane and Retrodawn, and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. If I could please play jailbreak without being treated so poorly, that would be fantastic.

Some background info, I told you not to write messages not related to game play in the admin chat, I appreciated your comment but your not a staff member any more and a clear thing that happens to ex staff members is they constantly type in admin chat and think its ok, so I wanted to make it clear that it wasn't. If every player complimented us in admin chat it would block the chat. So Shane then gagged you for something I was no aware of, and you disagreed with that. Not only did you write a message into admin chat it wasn't as simple as saying "I complained about him" you wrote a massive message with something along the lines of you joining the PU and making a PU complaint against him. Now that is taking the Piss. You as an ex admin knows the PU is a complete joke and you chose to write a useless message into the admin chat and I chose to give you a 10 minute tgag as you are an ex admin and you know better especially after me telling you. The 3 admins on at the time do not need to hear your personal quarries with Shane over the admin chat instead please message him on steam or discord next time.

I wasn't trying to abuse the admin chat and I didn't think I could "constantly type in admin chat and think its ok". I literally typed 2 messages. 1 compliment, and 1 apology. And I didn't use admin chat again after I apologised until the following map, when I warned Shane about his blatant abuse. 

Mentioning working with the PU to make a complaint about Shane shouldn't affect the message I was trying to convey about his abuse. I don't believe that the PU is "a complete joke". I think it's important to have player-representation - especially in an environment where many players don't know how to defend themselves so instead of doing so, they give up and leave the server. The message wasn't useless, you just perceived it as being useless because you didn't agree with what I had to say.

This has nothing to do with Shane and I unless he chooses to put himself in situations where he abuses his powers against me because he doesn't like me. Which he has already managed to accomplish. 

I can't tell you the amount of times I've been angry at a particular player and wanted to punish them for the smallest infraction - But I always held myself back because I'm aware of the potential ramifications of abusing my powers just because I don't particularly like someone. If you boys can't hold yourselves back from punishing me in such a way, my personal opinion is that you shouldn't be representing Domination Servers. 

Just so you know Retrodawn, whilst I'm disappointed that you chose to total-gag me, this post is moreso directed at Shane. So if he'd like to present his totally dismissive and abusive side of the story, I welcome him to do so.

Its sad that the PU gave Retro a position of trust, and in return to that trust Retro use that position to back stab his own oraginsation to climb the admin ranks which is the first and hopefully the only unmoral action of this size to happen to the PU.

To clear the record Shaggy was a member of the PU before, during and after his admin time, of course being suspended while he held the admin position under the charter rules.

To the overall question, it is clear that admin chat should be encouraged, from first hand experience I can tell you admins talk as much pointless stuff to each other as players writing to them, based on that evidence and the over-reaction to Shaggy few comments the balance of probabilities suggest that this was in fact an attack against Shaggy, most likely in my view for him leaving the admin team on generally bad terms.

This is the same as onionzz who also attempted to continue policy arguments during game as he was upset after a recent discord disagreement by calling votes against major PU figures using his power as an admin and spamming over warden which if he was a player would of been muted, he also made jokes at a former head admin expense (another nerd) as to that he should lead the players union as the common joke is that another nerd is so incompetent and so far that it would be a joke to replace him as leader of the PU. These type of jokes are also directs at another former head who onionzz has also turned on (gymson) who is often the butt on mental physiological jokes. The problem is not that the jokes are being made as banter it is an important part of JB, but the problem is when banter is given by a admin, responded to by a player and then an admin uses an power invested in trust to them by the community to win that banter argument using there powers. It is my view that many admin at this current stage need a major training overhaul at the bare minimum to keep everything flowing in a positive direction.

I’m pretty sure you are well aware that Nerd was the one that called the vote against you. But anyway..

Threatening an admin over admin chat is in pretty poor taste, maybe they decided to stop the situation from escalating by stopping you from potentially getting more angry in-game via a tgag. Nevertheless, a tgag without warning is potentially extreme, but I will talk to them both about this situation later today.

I'm at work so my reply is a little rushed, but I want you to understand that I told him I'd make a complaint on the following map, not before he tgagged me, AFTER. Your response makes sense in Retrodawn's defense, but not in Shane's.

Retrodawn and I resolved the whole issue. This whole situation only became a problem when Shane butted in out of nowhere to punish me well after the fact.
