would say its a shit idea, but looking at the video you put in, it looks much better. an idea not so good at first glance, but good practically shown.
some things i noted
looking at the video you showed, the t and ct start in the air, this means that you don't start at 250 velo making it useless to bhop at the start.
also not sure why the finishing line is just a circle, could be an actual line because from looking at the footage, the race ended when you touched the perimeter of the circle, if the finish line was in the circle i would understand, but it seems to be the outline of it

Most of those things make sense, it was just an example to show the basics of it and give the idea.

But is it really necessary? I mean it looks cool and stuff, but just seems like it can easily be done with bullets shots or just over mic, so need for an extra lr option.

I like this idea quite a lot and think it could be a great addition to the LR menu. Could even have custom race options like low gravity or high speed or choose to race all the cts at once. Sure you could just call custom lr and for example race the cts to the top of couchgame from cell area (canyondam) however some players do like to false start and get a slight advantage even if the admin doesn't pick up on it. A proper LR where all the cts and t's have their position reset like shown in the video would feel necessary and counter the false starters if this LR were to be implemented which I hope it is.

The low gravity and speed does sound pretty cool, and yeah I guess it would help to minimize false starters.
